Shawn Daniel Cogley was given a first-class, one-way ticket to heaven on “Angel Airlines” on November 3rd, 2022. He passed away at the Hawthorne Farm, where he had grown up, and was soon welcomed in Heaven by a bevy of loving arms for one of the most heartwarming reunions. His death’s cause is still unknown.On April 21st, 1960, Shawn was born at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. He was overambitious from the start and couldn’t wait to enter this realm. Of eight brothers and sisters, he was the firstborn. Born to Dr. Keith and Caroleen (Shifflet) Cogley, this child marked the beginning of a big, devoted family that was only setting down roots.For every circumstance, Shawn had a motivational statement or quip. The sayings “When the going gets rough, the tough start going” and “Once a project has first begun, never stop until it is done” are two that his family will never forget. No matter how big or how tiny, do it well or don’t do it at all. These accurately capture Shawn’s way of life.He entered this world too soon and left it too soon, yet in his sixty-two years he provided so much. Knowing him has made us all better individuals.
